Right in the heart of the centre of historic Taormina, Villa Gaia is a short distance from the Cathedral and many other attractions of great artistic and cultural value. The splendid period residence dates back to 1928, when it was built on the instructions of Alice Crook, a Mexican peeress who found the magnificent countryside of Taormina the ideal place to stay.

In the period after the war, the distinguished Taormina-born Valentino Atenasio, bought the villa and successively altered and enlarged it to host friends and travellers. In this way, a secular tradition of refined hospitality and exemplary welcome was born; a tradition that has been handed down from generation to generation to this day: Today, nieces welcome you with that same passion and professionalism as their ancestors. The warm colours and decorative Sicilian elements such as terracotta bas-reliefs, ceramics, Taormina stone, wrought-iron railings…, together with a friendly and welcoming atmosphere characterize the environment, creating the ideal place to spend a pleasant holiday or stay.

The welcoming Villa of historic fascination has large and luminous common areas, such as the reception area enhanced by terracotta flooring and delightful wicker tables and chairs. You can walk in the splendid Mediterranean garden around the villa, amongst a sea of citrus trees, flowering bushes, jasmine and hibiscus trees emanating fragrant perfumes.

It is right here, on the beautiful terrace decorated with mosaic tables and under the shade of fruit trees that guests can also choose to enjoy breakfast in the open air.
